The German Cancer Research Congress is a joint event of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe) and German Cancer Society (DKG), together with the Netzwerk der Onkologischen Spitzenzentren (CCC-Netzwerk, network of top oncology centers), the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK), the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT), and the Abteilung Experimentelle Krebsforschung (AEK).
The congress is a contribution to the National Decade against Cancer and aims to promote networking between various key players and stakeholders in the cancer research landscape in Germany, and to feature selected highlights and cutting-edge science from basic via preclinical to translational cancer research. Moreover, the German Prize for Cancer Prevention Research is awarded the second time.

The main congress day is Oct 31, 2023, which will be flanked by an interactive program with various opportunities for exchange and networking organized by DKTK (Oct 30), NCT (Nov 1) and other networks.
There will be Sessions on e.g. Metabolism & Cancer, Bioinformatics & Functional Genomics for Precision Medicine, Microbiome & Cancer and many more. In addition, several Workshops and a Poster Exhibition will provide insights into the exciting field of cancer research.
